Q. What level of fitness is required?

A moderate level of fitness is required as you will be cycling up to 100km on several days.

Q. What sort of people take part in the Challenges?

Any member of the community keen to take on Central Victoria by bike and wanting to make a difference for MD. There is no age restriction other than being at a fitness level to to complete the ChallengeMD in a safe manner.

Q. What will I need to take with me? Do I need any special kit?

One cycling kit will be provided as part of your participation. Bring any specific personal requirements you can't do without, eg camera, change of clothes for the evenings, spare jocks and socks, pillow, sleeping bag and toiletries.

 Q. What is the food like? Are special dietary requirements catered for?

MDA will cater breakfast BBQ style and evening meals will be enjoyed at a local pub or similar venue.

Q. How many people take part?

Numbers will be limited to 40 cyclists.

Q. Will I have to carry my personal belongings?

No! The ride will be followed by the MDA Commuter bus with all your personal belongings, spare parts, first aid kit and can be used for respite in the event that a stage cannot be cycled by a participant.

Q. What is the accommodation like?

Local accommodation will be sourced. For example the Blue Light Camp at Derby Hill in Maldon, a secondary college school hall and similar style acommodation.

Q. Do I need insurance?

MDA has $20 million public liability insurance, however you are encouraged to also have your own insurance in the event of injury and resultant time off work or similar.
